In this B movie horror porn a scientist is researching strange natural phenomena in a swamp. Her exploratory urge is awakened when she sees a naked man that is seduced by a mysterious woman. FNC 2021 – ASMODEUS

Asmodeus aura sa première nord-américaine au Festival du nouveau cinéma – FNC dans la célèbre section TEMPS Ø // FNC aux côtés des dernières offrandes de Mandico, Noé, Lozier, Gonzalez, etc. !

Le film sera d’ailleurs présenté à l’Impérial avant Lux Aeterna de Noé le dimanche 10 octobre à 22h, en présence d’une partie de l’équipe.

« Un homme se plie à un rituel de luxure au cours duquel il est possédé par trois femmes, telles les Parques, à la fois sensuelles et sorcières. Derrière et devant la caméra, Éric Falardeau (réalisateur du remarqué Thanatomorphose) nous entraîne dans un tourbillon sensoriel qui mêle horreur, poésie et sexualité explicite, quelque part entre l’hallucination occulte et l’autoportrait d’une masculinité écartelée. Hommage à la magie d’un Méliès aussi bien qu’à l’audace des premières avant-gardes ou du cinéma expérimental américain – Kenneth Anger en tête –, Asmodeus sublime les corps et les fluides à travers son noir et blanc en super8 texturé et ses effets spéciaux manuels. Une œuvre à la fois fantomatique et charnelle, en forme de vanité cinématographique.  »

Asmodeus will have its North American premiere at the Festival du nouveau cinéma – FNC in the (in) famous TEMPS Ø // FNC section alongside the latest offerings from Mandico, Noé, etc. !

Montréal, 26 août 2021 – THANATOFILMS est fier de présenter l’affiche officielle du prochain court métrage du cinéaste primé Éric Falardeau (Thanatomorphose, The Thing from the Lake,Crépuscule, Coming Home) : ASMODEUS.

Asmodeus est un rituel cinématographique, un autoportrait sanglant, un voyage vers l’illumination chargé d’images occultes dans lequel un homme invoque et rencontre trois incarnations féminines différentes du démon lubrique Asmodeus.

Inspiré de l’avant-garde américaine, des techniques d’effets spéciaux in camera et de l’iconographie du cinéma muet, de l’art de performance et de l’art transgressif, ainsi que de la littérature occulte, Asmodeus est un voyage visuel rempli d’effets pratiques et d’affects puissants. Il est tourné en super 8 mm Kodak Tri-X Black-and-White Reversal par le directeur de la photographie Luc Desjardins avec des effets de maquillage spéciaux par AntonFX.

Asmodeus met en vedette Falardeau dans le rôle principal aux côtés de Stéphanie Cadieux, Juliette Pottier Plaziat et Annaëlle Winand dans celui du démon aux multiples visages.

Les premières mondiales et nord-américaines seront annoncées bientôt. Un coffret limité incluant le film en DVD et la trame sonore en vinyle sera également en vente plus tard cet automne.

Montreal, August 26, 2021 – THANATOFILMS proudly presents the official poster for director Éric Falardeau’s independently produced new short film ASMODEUS.

Asmodeus is a movie ritual, a gory self-portrait, a journey towards enlightenment, loaded with occult imagery, where a man invokes and meets three different woman-like incarnations of the lustful demon Asmodeus.

Inspired by the American avant-garde, silent cinema’s incamera special effects techniques and iconography, performance and transgressive art, and occult authors, Asmodeus is a visual trip full of practical effects and powerful affects. It is shot on spectral super8mm Kodak Tri-X Black-and-White Reversal film by cinematographer Luc Desjardins with special make up effects by AntonFX.

Asmodeus stars Falardeau in the main role with Stéphanie Cadieux, Juliette Pottier Plaziat and Annaëlle Winand as the multifaceted demon.

World and North American premieres will be announced soon. A limited box set including the DVD movie and vinyl soundtrack will also be on sale later this fall.

J’ai eu l’immense privilège de réaliser ce vidéoclip pour l’ami Jacques Bertrand Junior. C’est rare qu’on collabore avec des légendes !

Parlant de légendes, notons les complices habituels : Luc Desjardins à la photo, Benoît Lemire à la post prod et Dominique Pelletier qui accompagne Jacques à la musique, dans le clip, etc.

Le vidéoclip du single THE FOREST ( pour mon groupe The SerVant) est également sélectionné pour la nouvelle section FOLIES DE MINUIT des Sommets du cinéma d’animation qui se tiendront à la Cinémathèque québécoise !

Le film, qui mélange animation en ombres chinoises et animation image par image, sera projeté sur grand écran dans la salle principale et la salle Fernand-Séguin le samedi 22 mai à 19h.
