Voici notre jury pour les très convoité prix Météore pour les meilleurs effets visuels, la meilleure réalisation et le grand prix du jury. Ceux-ci seront remis lors de la projection du samedi 28 mars 20h. Il y aura aussi un prix Météore du public remis lors de la projection du dimanche 16H.

Éric Falardeau se joint au Département de littérature, théâtre et cinéma à titre de professeur assistant.
Réalisateur et chercheur, il s’intéresse entre autres, à la recherche-création, aux humanités numériques et aux nouvelles technologies ainsi qu’aux genres cinématographiques.
Auteur de plusieurs ouvrages sur le cinéma et les effets spéciaux, Éric Falardeau est également reconnu pour son travail de réalisation, tant en courts métrages qu’en longs métrages de fiction, dont Thanatomorphose (2012) et The Thing From the Lake (2019), ainsi que pour son plus récent essai documentaire, Un carnet abitibien.

Avatar : Feu et cendres, Effets Spéciaux à l’Honneur à D’abord l’info (ICI RDI)
« Avatar : Feu et cendres» , le troisième de la franchise, prend l’affiche aujourd’hui, à quelques jours de Noël. Le film de James Cameron promet déjà d’être un succès au box-office du temps des fêtes, malgré sa durée de 3h15. Les critiques sont mitigées, mais tous saluent la qualité des effets spéciaux et des scènes d’action. Nous en avons parlé avec Éric Falardeau, réalisateur et spécialiste des effets spéciaux.

Thanatomorphose Honored at the Bogotá Horror Film Festival
We are proud to announce that, during its seventh edition, the Bogotá Horror Film Festival awarded Thanatomorphosea Special Mention in the Transgressive Film category.
Granted by the international jury chaired by Michael Berryman, this distinction highlights the film’s radical vision, visual power, and artistic boldness, which explore the boundaries of the body and horror through a unique and striking creative approach.
This recognition further establishes Thanatomorphose as a reference point in contemporary transgressive cinema, celebrating the strength of the genre as an extreme, symbolic, and deeply human form of artistic expression.
