Asmodeus aura sa première nord-américaine au Festival du nouveau cinéma – FNC dans la célèbre section TEMPS Ø // FNC aux côtés des dernières offrandes de Mandico, Noé, Lozier, Gonzalez, etc. !
Le film sera d’ailleurs présenté à l’Impérial avant Lux Aeterna de Noé le dimanche 10 octobre à 22h, en présence d’une partie de l’équipe.
« Un homme se plie à un rituel de luxure au cours duquel il est possédé par trois femmes, telles les Parques, à la fois sensuelles et sorcières. Derrière et devant la caméra, Éric Falardeau (réalisateur du remarqué Thanatomorphose) nous entraîne dans un tourbillon sensoriel qui mêle horreur, poésie et sexualité explicite, quelque part entre l’hallucination occulte et l’autoportrait d’une masculinité écartelée. Hommage à la magie d’un Méliès aussi bien qu’à l’audace des premières avant-gardes ou du cinéma expérimental américain – Kenneth Anger en tête –, Asmodeus sublime les corps et les fluides à travers son noir et blanc en super8 texturé et ses effets spéciaux manuels. Une œuvre à la fois fantomatique et charnelle, en forme de vanité cinématographique. »

Asmodeus will have its North American premiere at the Festival du nouveau cinéma – FNC in the (in) famous TEMPS Ø // FNC section alongside the latest offerings from Mandico, Noé, etc. !
The film will be presented at the Imperial before Noé’s Lux Aeterna on Sunday October 10 at 10 p.m., in the presence of part of the team.

After his acclaimed Thanatomorphose, genre filmmaker Éric Falardeau is both behind and before the camera in this sensory extravaganza, somewhere between an occult hallucination and a self-portrait of conflicted masculinity, that serves up a heady mix of horror, poetry and unbridled eroticism. A tribute to the magic of Méliès, the early American avant-garde and underground film (think: Kenneth Anger), Asmodeus renders bodies and fluids transcendent through its use of textured black-and-white Super 8 and in-camera special effects.
