There was a sense of wonder and occasional disbelief when scouring the horror section of independent video stores during their heyday, coming across a vampire covered with bubbling, oozing flesh, or an eyeball laying on the ground still tethered to its socket by various icky tissues, or a head split in two, the tongue unfurled between the crevice like a Fruit Roll-up.

Drawn by the deep nostalgia of roaming video rental stores to find cool movies to watch by judging what its VHS box’s artwork would entice or beguile, filmmaker & artist Pat Tremblay has created a series of HORROR MOVIE POSTERS with the assistance of AI. He then proposed to talented individuals within the horror movie scene to write IMAGINARY REVIEWS for them. The result is a captivating mixture of styles, ranging from the enigmatic and alluring to the outrageously hilarious. The dimensional doors to the AIlien Realms have opened, and you can now read what horrific and crazy films this AI world has created, for better or for worse!
The TERROR IN THE AILIEN REALMS launch party will take place during the FanTasia Film Festival on Friday, July 28 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at McKibbins Irish Pub, 1426 Bishop, 2nd floor. Le cinéma est un écran sur lequel projeter sans fard ses peurs, ses hantises et la monstruosité du monde. L’écran nous protège de ce qu’on y voit, mais le cinéma a aussi durablement ancré nos cauchemars autour de quelques images fortes (maisons vidées, greniers et sous-sols hostiles, masques démoniaques, grimaces à glacer le sang, postures inquiétantes). La Cinémathèque québécoise proposera tout au long de l’été un cycle traversant plus de cent-vingt ans d’horreur, nous rappelant à quel point ce qui fait frémir le plus consiste à rendre concret, palpable et crédible nos craintes les plus enfouies.

Réalisateur, scénariste et producteur de plusieurs courts métrages et d’un long métrage (Thanatomorphose), écoutez-le raconter ses différents projets et les enjeux reliés à son œuvre au Québec et ailleurs.
Accès cinéma est une émission d’entrevue dans lequel Christophe Moquin va à la rencontre d’artistes et d’artisans du cinéma pour parler de leurs travail et leurs œuvres.
